I’ll share the 7 habits that help me save 32 hours every week. That’s like getting extra 2 months (32 hrs x 52 weeks) on top of 12 months in a year.
I know it sounds too good to be true! I’ll explain it with the math in a little bit.
As a Learn + Grow member, I know you are a high-achiever and prioritize learning and personal growth.
But it’s not just the good intention and ambitious goals that help us succeed.
We also need high-performing habits and systems which are actionable, repeatable, scalable, and sustainable. And most importantly, helps us save time or create more energy.
Therefore, I wanted to share these 7 habits that help me buy back more time and energy to continue building more high-performing habits.
And the results speak for themselves! Let's dive into the math:
1/ Listening to Audiobooks and Podcasts at 1.25x speed
I listen to 2 hours of audiobooks and podcasts every single day during my walks, breaks, and commute.
That’s 14 hours of learning per week.
Doing this at 1.25x speed saves me 2.5 hours on top of leveraging my free time on walks and commutes.
⏱️ Time Saved = 2.5 hrs/week
2/ Lunch and Learn
Instead of mindlessly scrolling through social media during lunch breaks, I invest that time in learning with online courses (like Mindvalley or Masterclass) and watching YouTube videos on personal and professional growth.
This simple switch helps me learn something new every day without costing me any extra time during my 30-minute lunch break.
⏱️ Time Saved = 2.5 hrs/week
3/ Simplify Decision-Making
Make one big decision to avoid thousands of small ones!
Applying the "Make one big decision" rule, I streamline my daily choices, such as what to wear or eat.
This saves me 5-10 minutes every day, totaling approximately 30 minutes per week.
⏱️ Time Saved = ~30 mins/week
4/ ChatGPT as My Digital Assistant
AI tools like ChatGPT are not to replace us but enhance us.
I use ChatGPT as my 24/7 co-pilot!
By training ChatGPT as my personal digital assistant, I effortlessly reclaim 5 hours of valuable time every week.
⏱️ Time Saved = ~5 hrs/week
5/ Three Rules for Efficient Organization
Following Andrew Mellen’s these three organizational rules helps me find anything in less than 30 seconds.
The average adult will WASTE 1 year of their life looking for lost or misplaced items.
If this research is true, I’m saving 15 minutes daily following these three rules.
⏱️ Time Saved = ~1 hrs/week
6/ Rise Early + Power Nap
Starting my day at 5 am and incorporating a 15-20 minute power nap in the afternoon proves transformative.
2 hours before 9 am is worth 4, and after 3 pm is worth only 1.
This is true! My creativity is 2x during the early morning hours. And after a power nap, I get an extra boost of productivity. By embracing these habits, I gain an extra 2 hours of productivity daily.
⏱️ Time Saved = ~10 hrs/week
7/ Meditation
While meditation may seem time-consuming, it's a common misconception.
Since practicing daily meditation, I have noticed a significant increase in my focus and energy. Low energy and lack of focus are big time wastes.
Investing 30 minutes in meditation yields a remarkable return of 2 hours of heightened energy and focus daily, which helps me stay longer in my flow state and do more productive work.
⏱️ Time Saved = ~10.5 hrs/week
Key Takeaway: Smart habits are not a waste of time. In fact, it helps you to earn more time and energy. These 7 habits combined make me extra 32 hours every week. Start investing your time in the right habits now!
